Poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years several types on the original poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to blackjack than traditional poker, in that the gamblers bet against the dealer instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no conniving or different types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up just before the croupier saying "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the different gamblers attain five cards. Once you have observed your hand and the bank’s initial card, you have to either make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s amount is akin to your beginning bet, which means that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your wager goes immediately to the house. After the bet is the showdown. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, with an amount equal to the initial wager. If the house does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The casino pays money equal to your initial bet and fixed odds on your call wager. These expectations are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
