No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player on the planet by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover whatever he possibly could about the game. Phil would tell his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse comments from other people kill his ambition of being one of the best poker players on the planet.

Phil started competing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning period and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed quite a few of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable passion for poker. He states that he is learning every day and is quite abashed about his achievements. He admits to making blunders in each game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Although Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a normal basis.
