No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup anything he could about the game. He would tell his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse comments from others kill his dream of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil started playing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win was not a regular thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his success to dedication and an undying passion for poker. Phil states that he is learning every single day and is very abashed about his achievements. Phil knows he makes mistakes in each game of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
