No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?


Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker contender on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup anything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the adverse comments from others annihilate his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

Phil began competing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and winning was not a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated many of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal love for poker. He says that he is picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. He admits to making mistakes every single session of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
